Forget hearts and flowers for Valentine’s Day this year and think pink bows instead. Inspired by Kate Spade’s collection of bow accessories (check out this adorable cosmetic bag), I decorated chevron paper straws with paper bows. The decorated straws can also be used as photo booth props. Since I didn’t really want to post photos of myself, Sophie was once again forced to be my model. So, just imagine a human in her place and you get the idea.
In addition to a Valentine’s Day party, the pink bow party would be great for a girls birthday party or baby shower. For a more glamorous adult party, add pink champagne or even make it a pink and black party with pink bows for the ladies and black bow ties for the men.
DIY How to: I cut out the paper bows using the Cricut Paisley cartridge. If you don’t have a Cricut, you can find a free bow template here. I used scrapbook paper in several shades and patterns and added a little glitter for extra sparkle. Then, I just taped the bows to the straws and that was it. Since I already own plenty of pink paper, the total cost of the project was $3.99 for the straws from Hobby Lobby by Queen & Co. (25 straws per package).
